Opened in 1895, this grand old building has been a permanent fixture in the Western Australian Gold Fields since the biggest gold rush in Australian history.

The conservation and restoration works included replacing deteriorated stone around the base of the building, repair and renewal of damaged or missing exterior render mouldings, removal of large amounts of cement mortar and repointing.
